About Us

The Democratic Women's Club of Jefferson County is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to fostering unity and success within the Democratic Party. Our mission is to unite women with a shared commitment to the party's principles and values, working together to stimulate interest and active participation in government affairs.

We are committed to promoting the fundamental principles the Democratic Party has traditionally upheld. Through our efforts, we seek to develop leadership skills among our members and promote harmony within the party ranks. By encouraging civic engagement and political activism, we aim to ensure that women's voices are heard and represented at all levels of government.

Our activities include organizing educational events, community outreach programs, and advocacy initiatives that support Democratic candidates and causes. We believe that by coming together, we can make a meaningful impact on our community and contribute to the success of the Democratic Party.

Marta Beck

Meet Marta

Marta Beck is a wife, mother, farmer, and community advocate rooted in Summit Point, West Virginia. As the wife of a disabled veteran and the mother of four adult children with special needs, she brings firsthand understanding of the challenges families face navigating healthcare, disability services, and long-term support systems—and the need for policies that center dignity, access, and accountability.

Living on a small farm where she raises thoroughbred horses and goats, Marta is deeply connected to rural life and land stewardship. Her commitment to responsible growth, environmental protection, and sustainable agriculture reflects her belief that strong communities are built by respecting both people and place.

Marta’s lifelong engagement in public service began at an early age after meeting President Jimmy Carter during his 1976 presidential campaign, an experience that shaped her dedication to faith-informed leadership, human rights, and ethical governance. She remains committed to advocating for transparent government, practical solutions, and policies that strengthen families, veterans, and working residents across Jefferson County.
